With an upcoming election less than 100 days away, big pieces are starting to move on the board. Some notable players are the companies supporting each major candidate. 

Harris, having recently replaced Biden on the Democratic ticket, has already raised a staggering sum of money but it has yet to wend its way through the Federal Election Commission’s accounting process. 

In the meantime, we’ve put together the top ten donors to Trump and Biden. The money Biden has raised thus far was transferred to Harris when she became the new nominee. This means we can still get a good look at which companies and sectors support her, given most of them will continue supporting the Democratic ticket regardless of the change.

 

Donald Trump

 

1. Energy Transfer LP – An energy company specializing in transporting crude oil, natural gas, NGLS, etc. They have donated a staggering $5M to former President Trump.
2. Intercontinental Exchange Inc. – Have made contributions of over $2M to Mr. Trump. This FinTech company from Georgia was founded in the year 2000 and has been working to digitize the energy markets. It also owns the New York Stock Exchange.
3. Wynn Resorts Ltd. – Have donated $1.6M to Donald Trump for the upcoming election. They are a hospitality company based in Paradise, Nevada who run popular high-end hotels and casinos.
4. Charter Communications Inc. – A large telecommunications and mass media company. They serve “more than 57 million homes and businesses in 41 states” per their website. Charter has contributed over $250K.
5. Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. – One of the most well-known and beloved Hotel Chains in the world, they made contributions this year to former President Trump in the total amount of $200K.
6. Vector Group Ltd. – Located in Miami, they are a diversified holding company with major interests in real estate as well as tobacco operations in North Carolina. They have made donations in the total amount of $100K.
7. Geo Group Inc. – Another company from the Sunshine State, The Geo Group is a security company that makes investments in private prisons and mental health facilities. They have made contributions of over $67K.
8. Enova International Inc. – A leading financial lending company whose customers are other businesses like themselves and underserved consumers. They have also contributed a little over $67K.
9. HCA Healthcare Inc. – Comprising over 180 hospitals, 2400 sites across 20 states, HCA Healthcare is a leading provider for healthcare in the United States. They’ve contributed a little over $62K.
10. American Airlines Group Inc. – Finishing off our list, we have American Airlines which is a well-known company to any frequent flyer. They’ve contributed a total of $61K to former President Trump.

 

Joe Biden

 

1. Microsoft Corp. – A leader in the tech industry as well as the emerging field of AI. They’ve contributed nearly $5M to President Biden.
2. Twilio Inc. – A cloud computing company located in San Francisco who specialize in programmable tools meant for communication. They have donated $4.8M to Biden this election cycle.
3. Google Inc. – This tech giant is no stranger to large donations made to politicians, having contributed $4.5M to Joe Biden this cycle alone.
4. Discover Financial Services – This large credit lender, popular among Americans in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties has made over $3M in donations to Biden this cycle.
5. Vail Resorts Inc. – In the middle of our list, the American mountain resort company located in the Centennial State – Colorado. They have made $2.2M in contributions.
6. Blackstone Inc. – This private equity giant and leader of industry is well regarded for assisting companies realize their growth potential. They have donated $2M to President Biden this election cycle.
7. Marcus & Millichap Inc. – A real estate brokerage, research, and advisory services firm. They have contributed a little over $2 million dollars to President Biden, similarly to Blackstone.
8. Oracle Corp. – A tech company headquartered in Austin, Texas boasting large figures in employee count, customers, services provided, and spending across the 175 countries they operate in. They have donated $1.8M to Joe Biden.
9. Warner Bros Discovery Inc. – A multimedia giant that serves multiple demographics across the globe. They have donated nearly $1.7M this cycle.
10. Palantir Technologies Inc. – Finishing off our list for the current President, we have Palantir Technologies Inc. They are from Denver, Colorado and they are a big data analytics company. They donated to Biden in the amount of $1.2M. Palantir was founded by Peter Thiel, who sponsored the political rise of JD Vance, President Trump’s running mate, which makes its inclusion on this part of the list a surprise.
