Donors to the Republican National Convention

It’s been a few weeks since the Republican National Convention, time filled by an astounding series of political developments. Now that things have somewhat calmed, we’ve been able to take a look at the corporate sponsors of the first of this year’s conventions.

The following list is adapted from one put together by the good folks at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. We’ve focused specifically on corporations and brands large enough to donate to politics, but the whole list is worth looking at over on the MJS site.

Firms with ties to the great state of Wisconsin:

  • Fiserv, the naming sponsor of the main venue of the Convention. It’s donated 33% of its total contributions to Republicans.
  • Foley and Lardner LLP, a Milwaukee law firm. It’s contributed 39% of its total to Republicans over the last 3 election cycles.

Other sponsors:

  • American Petroleum Institute, a trade organization for the oil and gas industry. The major donors to its PAC are Hess, ConocoPhillips, Devon, Coterra, and Chevron.
  • General Motors, which has contributed 54% of its donations to Republicans.
  • The Heritage Foundation, the organization responsible for Project 2025.
  • Starbucks, who have donated 30% of their contributions to Republicans.
  • American Beverage Association, an industry group with a PAC, the top 3 donors to which are Coke, Pepsi, and Keurig Dr. Pepper.
  • National Association of Home Builders, a national trade organization. The top 5 donors to its BUILDPAC committee are Dominion Energy, Comcast, ADP, DTE, and Whirlpool.
  • Win Red, the flagship Republican fundraising platform.

CEOs who appeared at the Convention:

  • Dana White, the CEO of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), a subsidiary of TKO Holdings which leans slightly right but donates mostly to nonpartisan PACs.
  • David Sacks, the former CEO of Yammer, now called Viva Engage and owned by Microsoft.
  • Bob Unanue the CEO of Goya Foods, which donates 100% of its contributions to Republicans.
  • Vivek Ramaswamy, founder of Roivant Sciences and former Republican candidate for President.
